Ask me what my favourite winery in the Yarra Valley is, and my answer will always be the same – Yering Farm.

I just love the place. From the huge open lawn that you can BYO picnic (and dogs) and relax in the sun, to the beautiful vines and apple orchard lining the property, Yering Farm is just picturesque.
The Cellar Door staff are so knowledgable and friendly, including the winery dog who just wants to play fetch with a stone with anyone willing to kick it around.
And I haven’t even started on the wines!
It may have started because my husband’s nickname is Ducky, but I am having a serious and ongoing love affair with the Yering Farm Duck Down Under Pinot Noir.
Which is why it has been chosen as the Day Three wine in our 12 Wines of Christmas!
On the Eye: Soft, burnt burgundy
On the Nose: Slightly sweet blackberries and cherry
On the Mouth: Smooth and delicate dark berries, with a subtle hint of vanilla
The perfect food pairing for this Pinot?
Ham! Ham, ham, ham, ham, ham!!!
Smoked Christmas ham, charcuterie and cold meat platters, honey glazed ham, even a Christmas ham pizza! Ham!!
I’m not sure I’m being clear enough, so just to be extra sure:
You should pair this Pinot with ham!!!
